We’ve worked hard to make it as easy as possible for you to post content on the site that is useful to both residents and visitors. All we ask is that you follow our these guidelines and terms of use. These guidelines are in place to ensure everyone can access relevant information and feel safe doing so.
Content that doesn’t conform to submission guidelines will be removed. Repeated breaches of the submission guidelines and/or terms of use may result in account suspension, or your access to the site being blocked.
With that said, we’ve broken down the guidelines into simple sections so they’re easy to understand. Select a topic to read more.
What you can submit
Currently, registered users can submit three distinct types of content to the site. There is no charge to list your content.
Organisations
These can be local businesses, community groups, meetups or other organisations local to Stourport-on-Severn.
Events
Any events going on in Stourport-on-Severn, from music and theatre to support meetings or educational experiences.
Attractions
Attractions are things of note in and around Stourport-on-Severn that people might visit from outside the area.
Organisations
Local businesses, charities, community groups and other organisations show up in our directory. Your organisation must:
- Be physically based in Stourport-on-Severn – if in doubt, that means your organisation should be officially based at an address that has a Stourport postcode (DY13)
- Be active and contain up-to-date information
- Not breach any other part of the submission guidelines

Events
Events show up in our ‘What’s on’ events calendar and elsewhere throughout the site. Events must:
- Have a confirmed venue in Stourport-on-Severn (DY13 postcode) OR be online events (e.g. Zoom events) specifically for the enjoyment or participation of the town’s residents.
- Have a confirmed date and time
- Be planned within 1 calendar year
- Not breach any other part of the submission guidelines
If you don’t have these details, aren’t sure whether your event is suitable, or have a large-scale local event you wish to promote, please contact us.
Attractions
Attractions appear in the ‘Visit’ area of the site, and are usually noteworthy destinations or days out. Attractions must:
- Be physically located either in Stourport-on-Severn, or in the surrounding areas
- Be of sufficient interest that people might travel from outside the area to visit (for example, the West Midlands Safari Park)
- Be active and contain up-to-date information
- Not breach any other part of the submission guidelines

Prohibited content
Our intention is that Stourport Town be a useful resource for our community and people who choose to visit the area. The following list (while not exhaustive) includes some of the topics or content that is expressly prohibited.
Inappropriate
- Obscene, profane or offensive language or gestures
- Spam or fake content
- Pornography or sexually explicit content
- Glorification of violence
- Promotion or restricted goods and/or services
- Impersonation or misrepresentation
- Advertising of organisations or events not relevant to Stourport-on-Severn
Illegal
- Advertising of illegal products and services
- Hate speech or targeting of people based on race, sex, gender, etc.
- Content regarding dangerous or illegal acts
- Content produced by or on behalf of terrorist groups
- Sexual abuse imagery and all content that presents children in a sexual manner
- Copyrighted content, or content that infringes intellectual property rights
While this site is not specifically aimed at children, a good rule of thumb is to assume children and/or vulnerable people may view it, and to keep content family-friendly. If you have reason to believe that content on this site breaches the guidelines, please let us know.
Submissions that contain prohibited content will be removed. Repeated breaches of the submission guidelines and/or terms of use may result in account suspension, your access to the site being blocked, or in certain cases your details being passed to law enforcement agencies.
Images/video
You are encouraged to upload images or video to this site where they will help you to promote your organisation, event or attraction.
It is your responsibility to ensure you have permission from the copyright owners to upload and use images and video.
The site owners bear no responsibility for images or video uploaded by users, but will act accordingly and in favour of copyright holders. If you believe your copyright has been infringed upon, please report it to us so we can investigate, and if necessary take down the offending content.
How to submit
In order to submit one of these types of content to the site, you first have to register an account. We only ask for the bare minimum of information necessary to create your account. You will have to agree to the Terms of use, Privacy Policy and to abide by these guidelines.
We will send you an email to verify the details you provided. Once you have clicked the link in this email, you will be able to log into the site. This step is in place to reduce spam.
Once you are logged in, simply follow the instructions.
What happens next?
All content submissions are manually reviewed before they appear on Stourport Town. This is to ensure that these guidelines are adhered to, and that the content submitted is useful and relevant to the residents of Stourport-on-Severn.
We do our best to review content submissions promptly, but it is best to allow up to 24 hours before your content appears on the site.
Approval of content is at the sole discretion of the site owners, we have no obligation to explain why content is approved or denied.
If you have an urgent need for content to be approved, or feel that your content was denied unfairly, please contact us.
Editing a submission
All content that you have submitted can be edited from your account, except for events that have already taken place, which are locked.

Reporting content
You can report any content which you believe breaches these guidelines, or any other applicable law.
Claiming your listing
It might be that your event, organisation or attraction has been listed by our staff or another third party. If this is the case, you will see a box on the listing that offers you the opportunity to claim that listing and manage it yourself. We need to check that you’re the owner of the listing before assigning it to you, but overall it’s a straightforward process. If you can’t find the option for whatever reason, you can submit a listing claim below.
Content takedown
If you believe your content has been used without your permission, or your organisation or event have been misrepresented, please report it.
Out of date information
Content listings that contain out-of-date information or are no longer relevant to the audiences of this site may be removed at any time, at the sole discretion of the site owners. We will always endeavour to get in touch with the content owner before such action and offer the opportunity to update the information, but regret this may not always be possible.
Technical issues
If you’re having trouble with any part of this website, please let us know. It’s often the case that issues are simple to resolve, but we will endeavour to help wherever possible.
