ENCORE DRAMA present a Trio of One Act Plays

Encore Drama present an evening of three one act plays – with Cheese and Crackers in the intervals

The Allotment by Gillian Plowman:

Five women are serving community punishment orders and are growing the vegetables for soup kitchens on an allotment.
Marcie is convicted of dangerous driving; Norah, a serial shoplifter; Belle has blackmailed her boss and Lorna, an actress, is convicted of criminal damage.
It is the first morning for Daisy, the new probation officer, and the tables are cleverly turned when a traumatic event in her past puts her on a par with the others.

A Night Out by Frank Vickery:
Seizing the opportunity, while her parents are out, Doreen decides to invite round Eric, her boyfriend.
However, the evening is doomed to failure for all concerned: Doreen tries to calm Eric’s passions while Mam and Dad overcome a ruined hair-do, the losing of all-important tickets
and the car’s flat battery only to find that they have the wrong night.

The Fat Lady Sings in Little Grimley by David Tristram:
Completing the Little Grimley trilogy with a cock-eyed confidence that will delight the faithful.
Gordon, Margaret, Joyce and Bernard are back to tackle yet another threat to their survival – this time in the shape of a rival am-dram, newly-formed in their village, determined to upstage them with an award-winning musical. The querulous quartet pull together to devise an ingenious military-style plan that doesn’t, well, go quite to plan.
When their subterfuge is discovered by the rival society’s psychopathic front-of-house manager, he’s none too pleased.
Add in a few emotional complications for Gordon, and things look a little grim for Little Grimley. Could this finally be the end of their society? Don’t be so sure. It’s never over … until the fat lady sings.
