Are you curious? Come and see what this is all about at a Free exhibition
Since prehistoric times people have been making and using string and rope and they are still doing so today.
Members of the International Guild of Knot Tyers are all interested in and practice these skills. It draws people from all walks of life from surgeons to fishermen, firemen to rock climbers, lace-makers to sailors. If you have ever done things like tied shoelaces, played cat’s cradles, done macramé or tied things on to a roof rack or trailer you will have used them. Come along and see the work of other knot tyers, see how rope is made and you can even try some knots yourself!
